MARCO members gathered virtually on February 14 2025 to discuss the impacts of US tariffs, provincial and federal election priorities, and local priorities.

The Mayors and Regional Chairs met in the context of looming US tariffs and international trade disruptions with the potential to seriously harm Ontario’s economy, as well as an ongoing provincial election and potential federal election on or before the resumption of Parliament on March 24.
Daniel Tisch, President & CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, provided an economic update on US tariffs and their consequences for Ontario. He shared new data on business confidence, updates on the current economic landscape, and key considerations for municipal leaders working to support local jobs and businesses. MARCO thanks Mr. Tisch for sharing his expertise.
MARCO is working to advance members’ priorities, with a focus on advocacy, engagement, and operations, since hiring its Executive Director in November 2024.
MARCO’s next member meeting will be on May 2, 2025. For questions, contact Executive Director Margot Cragg at margot@marcontario.ca
